SORT.B3S platform
What is the SORT.B3S platform?
An integrated platform designed to support service delivery and security management. It is intended to provide comprehensive support for telecommunications operators. It combines components that support service and security management:
- SORT.BSS – business and customer support, acting as the operator’s CRM system,
- SORT.OSS – infrastructure and service management,
- SORT.SEC – the security component.
The system enables operators to manage their business comprehensively – from cataloguing offers and managing services and networks to security monitoring and billing for wholesale services. This allows operators to fully exploit the potential of a telecoms CRM solution.
Many years of experience and market knowledge, combined with a proven modular approach, give the system a whole new level of quality and capability. Innovative automation mechanisms and a process-oriented approach make work more efficient. The unique and wide range of functionalities meets the operator’s current and future needs.
The SORT.B3S platform was developed as part of the project entitled: “Integrated platform supporting service provision and security management for local telecommunications operators”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme for 2014–2020.

Product catalogue
The product catalogue allows you to define offers comprising individual services or service packages, taking promotions into account. Offers can be tailored to specific customer groups.
At the product catalogue level, you can also specify the technologies through which services can be provided, so that you know what equipment a particular customer will need.
Sales support for services
SORT.BSS allows you, amongst other things, to organise sales campaigns targeting specific customer groups in defined locations and for specific offers. Only offers that meet specific criteria can be selected, in particular those that require only the technologies available in a given area. Offers are presented both in tabular form and as charts illustrating charges for individual billing periods. All this is designed to present information clearly, which is of great importance for the user-friendliness of the system and ensures the right choice is made.
SORT.BSS is also well-suited for use on mobile devices. All features can be utilised whilst working in the field, e.g. during door-to-door sales campaigns.
Customer Service
The ability to segment customers using any number of customisable parameters allows for a personalised service for different customer groups. All operations carried out on a customer’s account are logged. During the customer service process, the operator has access on a single screen to all relevant data, all actions they can perform, information on the history of actions, and access to any notes or descriptions previously associated with the customer.
Distribution of information to customers
The system includes features that allow information to be sent to selected customers regarding various actions taken in connection with the provision of services. A typical example is notification of an invoice issued. This information is distributed via email and/or text message.
Equipment and warehouses
The System allows you to define any number of warehouses and devices, and then assign devices to warehouses and transfer them between warehouses. This enables you to track the history of equipment, from receipt at the main warehouse through to disposal.
During the implementation of the System, the technologies supported by the network and client devices used by the Operator are defined. Subsequently, when entering devices into the System, you can select which technologies a given device supports; this then allows you to select the appropriate devices for various processes carried out within the System.
Payments and settlements
It is possible to define billing periods of any length and assign customers to specific periods. Invoices can also be issued on demand for one-off services provided. The system generates JPK files and features an API for transferring data to an accounting system. SORT.BSS ensures that all services provided to customers are invoiced.
There is a feature for accepting payments at the till and settling bulk payments from banks. In eBOK, it is also possible to make payments using QR codes.
Complaints
If a complaint requires the involvement of technical support, the system allows relevant technical work orders to be created for them. If the complaint is upheld and a decision is made to calculate discounts and compensation, these will be calculated in accordance with the guidelines set out in the relevant regulations.
Debt collection
The system allows you to view lists of customers with outstanding payments and those subject to debt collection. The lists can be filtered and sorted according to various criteria. Different debt collection actions can be taken against individual customers or entire groups, depending on the stages defined in the debt collection process.
Landline and mobile telephony
The functionality for retrieving call detail records from exchanges, determining call durations and the numbers dialled. Based on this information, and taking into account the billing tariff, charges are calculated. The calculated values are transferred to the invoicing process, together with the call detail records.
Technical orders
The system includes customisable schedules for technicians. These allow tasks to be assigned to available time slots and ensure that work is carried out as planned. Technicians are provided with the information they need to organise their work and can record the completion of jobs. The system’s responsive interface enables work to be carried out both in the office and in the field using mobile devices.
Reports and Analytics Module
The SORT.BSS system includes a customisable reports module containing predefined standard reports. Any operator can create their own reports by writing appropriate SQL queries; the module provides access to all data stored in the system database.
eBOK
The module features customisable user interface elements such as the operator’s logo, colours, etc. It provides access to customer documents, e.g. contracts, orders and invoices. Users can download a QR code containing all the details required for a bank transfer. eBOK also serves as a marketing channel, informing customers about new offers.
SORT.OSS
Network Systems
Hierarchical network topology
Defining the technologies available in specific locations
Control systems for service platforms
Visualisation of the network and available technologies on maps
Hierarchical network topology
SORT.OSS allows you to define the hierarchical structure of a network and specify the locations of individual nodes. The nodes defined in this way, together with the relationships between them, can then be viewed on a map, which facilitates, amongst other things, the planning of network upgrades.
Defining the technologies available in specific locations
For each network device, the technologies it supports must be defined. Together with information about the device’s location, this enables us to determine which services can be offered to the customer at the address they have specified.
Control systems for service platforms
SORT.OSS also provides provisioning for a wide range of hardware platforms, including GPON equipment from various manufacturers, access routers, IPTV platforms, VoIP platforms and others.
Visualisation of the network and available technologies on maps
Displaying the hierarchical topology of the network on maps, taking into account the technologies available on individual devices and at specific locations.
SORT.SEC
Safety
SORT.SEC – Security Component
As part of the B3S – Business and Security Support System project, modifications were made to the SORT.BSS component to enable the logging of various events occurring within the system that could affect data security and the telecommunications operator’s business in general. A new SORT.SEC component was also created to collect and analyse events from the SORT.BSS System and the network infrastructure.
SORT.SEC enables the Operator to meet the legal requirements for telecommunications operators, arising from the Regulation of the Minister of Digital Affairs on the minimum technical and organisational measures and methods that telecommunications operators will be required to apply to ensure the security or integrity of networks and services. Operators will also be required to carry out activities to ensure the security or integrity of networks and services under the new Telecommunications Act, which must be aligned with the European Electronic Communications Code by the end of 2020.
For operators who, under the Act on the National Cybersecurity System, have become Operators of Critical Services, the implementation of the SORT.SEC system is an excellent solution to ensure that all legal requirements are properly met.
-
Selection of events occurring within the system and network infrastructure that are to be monitored
The ability to monitor various events, such as: operators logging into the system, defining customers and contracts. It is also possible to monitor events occurring within the Operator’s network infrastructure. The Operator can choose at any time which events they wish to monitor. -
Defining critical values that trigger alerts
For each monitored event, you can define critical thresholds; if these are exceeded, an alert will be triggered. This feature allows you, for example, to monitor staff performance to ensure they are not engaging in activities that pose a risk to the operator and that their work is being carried out efficiently. -
Incident creation, incident impact analysis
An incident can be created from any alert, but that’s not all—it can also be created independently. Within the incident, you can analyse the impact and financial losses, identify the resources and processes affected, and describe the actions taken.
-
Assessing the risk of serious incidents occurring and the costs of protective measures
Based on the number of incidents of a given type, the system enables the probability of a particular risk occurring to be determined and calculates the potential losses. It is also possible to define security measures and calculate their cost. -
Presentation of events in graph form
The events being monitored are presented in the form of charts, which provide an overview of the scale and sources of potential risks. -
Presentation of risks
The risks identified by the operator are presented by area, together with information on the calculated risk level. -
Security planning
All of the above measures are designed to put safeguards in place to minimise losses should the most serious risks materialise.
